About this scrapbook page: |
There’s a fantastic collection of images that Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass) took of the little Alices (Alice and her sisters) in his life, looking vivid and languid, sultry and innocent, between the contractions of the camera’s shutter. I don’t like to judge this man. Carroll photographed Alice from 1856 to 1870. A problem: the behavior of the little girl was troubled by those pictures. I don’t like that.

Lewis Carroll has fallen in some disfavor do to his alledged relationship with Alice. There is no doubt that his photography was wonderful and often captured the innocence of his subjects. The negative impact it had on the young girls was tragic.
