This is my attempt at a new hobby; the Japanese art of natural flower arranging called Ikebana. (Pronounced ICKY-Baa-nuh) The idea is to mimic the natural growth and flow of the greenery, and paying attention to the empty spaces as well. The artform utilizes whatever is in season and focuses on 3, 5 or 7 varieties in interesting containers. Its given me a very serene zenlike feeling of calm. I believe I will enjoy it for many years to come.
