Born Lourens Tadema (Alma being his middle name) in Dronryp, Friesland, to Pieter Tadema, a notary, and his second wife Hinke Brouwer - from an early age he showed some artistic ability and the beginnings of his highly methodical and exacting nature as demonstrated in his paintings to follow. of all the scraps you've done of alma-tadema's works, i think this best captures his style as it clearly shows luxury and setting of marble against the blue Mediterranean sea that he is known for. Great job on this, vera, 10+10!
