Another history lesson for you all. Rough earth wall type battlements were built by the Maori warriors to defend their pa (village). These pictures show scenes from the Maori - Pakeha battles during the early wars over settlement of the country. The top right is what can be found in many places still - the earth banks of the redoudts. For the R challenge - thanks for leaving c/v.
