The first time I saw 'fire devils' was after the Lost Creek Fire near my town in 2003. The Red Deer Rapid Response fire fighting team brought photos into my lab to develop and we noticed some VERY eerie images in the flames, some very clear and spooooky. Since then I have always taken photos of our campfires to try to catch some little Fire Devils at play. These were taken June 2009.

Thanks for the comments :) We had our firepit going tonight and I got a couple more cool shots of 'fire devils' so hopefully I'll get those photos up here soon :)

Great page ~ the devil is really obvious in the top photo! I have never heard of fire devils before, but will have to search through my old fire pit piccies! Maybe you should set a fire devil challenge?
