This is a photo of my mother and her older sister in Ukraine ....prewar....and I would guess she was between 15 and 17. Well, the Germans came and took her away to Germany to work as a servant for a rich German couple...the war ended... she met my dad...got married...had me.... and with the highest of intentions of going back for a visit...unfortunately did not. They did correspond with each other until her sister passed away. Their paths had never met up again!(mom is the gal on the right)

You are so fortunate to have such a fantastic photograph of your mother at that age as well as being with her sister! And what a wonderful story telling us all more about this wonderful photograph and time! Not to mention the great quote! My grandparents on my father's side immigrated here just before during the Russian Revolution. Another simplistic, clean page with white this time!
