I decided to take pictures of knitting projects I am working on and making note of the details of how the project was made (knitting gauge, type of yarn, size of needles, etc), as a reference in case I want to try making it again. Here is a sample. This will be printed out and put in a 4 x 6 photo album so I can have a record of my knitting projects. I posted this in case there are other knitters who might find this idea helpful.
