Home Is Where The Heart Is...for Day 9, we were to scrap about our home. The challenge was to write down 10 things that were around us and scrap them.

JOURNALING READS:
It's December 28, 2007 and I'm sitting on the red sofa in the den. To the left of me, and along the wall, is my chaotic and messy craft table. It looks like a tornado hit it, but I can find anything that I need to create a card, scrap a tradition page or hybrid project, or create a piece of glass bead jewelry.

All of my music CD's can be found just above my craft table. It's an ecclectic mix of country, jazz, contemporary, gospel, opera and classic rock. Since the age of 3, music has been a deep rooted part of me.

Found on the wall above the sofa, and to the right of the windows, is an old waterbed, headboard mirror that has 6 corner shelves. I found it at a thrift store for $4 to use on an old dresser, but instead used it on the wall to showcase some of my antique toys. Many of these were my mother's childhood toys that were passed down to me.

Looking directly above the windows behind me, you'll see a shelf that runs the length of the double windows. This is where I display some of the antique soda bottles that I've collected over the years. Nearly half of these were found in our back yard around the barn. Out of all of my vintage/antique collections, this one is the largest spilling over into the kitchen and other areas of the house.

Also found in this room is our 37", flat screen, HDTV, 6 surround sound speakers, stereo receiver, DVD & VCR player. The speakers can get extremely loud. So much so, that they have been known to rattle the windows throughout the entire house.

Another collection found in this room is my beloved collection of cows. Many of them are sitting on the built-in shelves to the left of the fireplace. My love of these bovine creatures began just a few years ago when I received a cow figurine as a Christmas present. From that moment on, I couldn't get enough of them, and now they have taken over the den and the kitchen.

The items surrounding me that I use daily are my laptop, scanner and digital camera. Without these items, I couldn't fulfill the creative side of me that enjoys digital scrapbooking.
