Made this page for the "Scrap your National Anthem" challenge. When I went to school we still had God save the Queen as our National Anthem and when we came to getting a new national Anthem songs such as walting Matilda were high on many lists. Advance Australia Fair was relativly unknown and don't get anyone to sing the second verse because traditionaly you are not ment to know it.

When I became (naturalized) Australian 19 years ago, i stuck to the tradition, sang the first and nananaed the second verse... nice to see them both together, though

Well Don, I think you've got a really beautiful National Anthem. It's so much better than so many others I know that are full of fighting and killing and warmongering. Actually though, I think that you should retire the first verse and just get everyone to sing the second one at international events..the world should be made aware of all those boundless (red) plains you've got to share!
