About this scrapbook page: |
Decided to make a page for the Adoption challenge and how I felt about birth parents. I made the poem up tonight and am pretty pleased with it.
In reply to tlovemykids comment i sent her a message to clarify things. this is about a birth other who didn't want to give up her child.

Oh,Wow! This poem states so succinctly the point of view that I'd been trying to put across to David for the past 10 years! His Birth Mother's,-it's no wonder this had him crying..it took so long for him to accept that she gave him away because she loved him. Thank God he finally got to meet her and hear her side of the story, and they're VERY close now, making up for lost time. A BRILLIANT page!

this brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes as l nearly gave my eldest up for adoption when l was 19. l didn't and he is now 35 and 6ft 2ins and one of the apples of my eye. l have scrapped him a few times. his name is Christian. My dad used to say he is one christian who will not be going to the lions. heart wrenching page. well done......

grandpa_david says:
This did not just make me want to cry, it made me cry, in fact I am having a job seeing the keyboard as I type. Being adopted myself this has hit a chord somewhere deep inside. When my adopted parents passed on I started to search for my mother and it took me 10 years to find her, but I did, and now I have her side of the story and I am happy about the reasons. Would you just stop putting ....

What a lovely poem and to be able to just sit down and right something like this is truly blessed. How hard it must be to give away someone you gave birth to...but to know they have gone to someone who can care for them more than yourself is even harder x

BEAUTIFUL, all mothers who have had children (whether they were adopted or not) feel the same when reading your words. My son wanted to stay with his father when we divorced and he was only 6 years old (hes 13 now), so I too feel I have missed out on a lot, and I still see him one weekend in two and half the holidays. Unfortunatly its never enough for me.

This is so beautiful! I`m adopted, and after meeting my birth mother and hearing her story, I know that she did a beautiful thing when she gave me away. I admire her for her strength to give me a better life than she thought she could give me. As you may know, I met my older brothers when she passed away last September. I do feel a lose not growing up with them, but we`ll have to catch up know!
