This is my mom piecing a quilt block with a hand-held needle and thread, and these are some of the more than 30 of her quilts that still exist. The oldest one here is the Umbrella Girl at the top. She appliqued the blocks for it in 1935. She would have been 97 on the day I posted this. I hope you enjoy looking at them and that you will go to the Quilt Squares and Quilts Challenges and vote for my entry. Thanks.

I only have one quilt from my grandmother. I cherish it. But I almost lost it when my DH cleaned out our storage and threw it away! Luckily his mother saw it and saved it for me. I will always love her for that! Your mother's quilts are beautiful! Wonderful way to display them.

This, I dearly love!! AND so fitting a tribute. It is absolutely incredible. I like that it shows SO much but is still at the same time, NOT too busy, I think that fact plus the phrase about the fabrics of our lives, the layout like I said perfect...therefore making this page perfect...
