About this scrapbook page:
Aung San Suu Kyi is the daughter of General Aung San, who negotiated Burma's independence from Britain in 1947, and that same year was murdered by opponents. In 1960 Suu Kyi moved to India when her mother was appointed ambassador. She studied at Oxford in England from 1964. There she met her husband, Michael Aris, who studied Tibetan culture. They had two sons, Alexander and Kim. She also studied at the University of London.
