About this scrapbook page: |
The 1940's saw Naval Aviation and Carrier Operations come of age. Fast Carrier Task Forces centered on Essex-class carriers ranged across the Pacific Theater in WWII. The carriers allowed power projection, but were also vulnerable to the Kamikaze strikes, as evidenced by the USS Bunker Hill in the upper left, damaged during operations during the invasion of Okinawa.

A powerful reminder of the war years for the Forties challenge Mike. Your blending of the images is beautifully and expertly done and the addition of the delicate butterfly combined with the softly fading wordart adds such poignancy to the page. A very moving tribute to those who served!

Oh this is amazing. It is a very beautiful reminder of the terrible times during this era. My great-uncle was killed during one of the Pacific battles. This kit is very appropriate for your page.
