About this scrapbook page:
Becky and I went to Nashville a few weeks ago and attended the Grand Ole Opry. There was an artist named Matraca Berg, and she performed this song. It is the story of the loss of her Grandparent's dairy farm in Wisconsin. The lament is that it has become easier to make a living off the land by selling it, rather than working it.
Nothing really special about this: I heard the song and liked the lyrics and melody, and decided to scrap it.

You've illustrated this song so beautifully with your selection of photos, and yes, it's very sad to think that one can make more money by selling their land. Super awareness page Mike!

This is so poignant, and so true of todays ways - Here in the UK a lot of farmers can't earn enough to live on and sell their land, usually to building companies and hey presto a new housing site !!!!!!!!! Our English green and pleasant land is slowly disappearing under bricks and mortar ---- Great page Mike xxxx

This reminds me so much of my great grandparents and the farm they had in Wisconsin. I have such wonderful memories of the summers I spent there. I've never gone back because I'm afraid it will all be gone. Love the lyrics and your wonderful page!
