Thank you Krystal - I have found out these books are still in print - I intend reading them again.
Being an avid reader and starting at a very young age these are the 1st books I can remember making an impression on me, must have been 7/8. Arthur illustrated his own books. Jonathan Cape publisher. Set in the English lakes and waterways, children on boats.

Have found out that Walking Tours are organised in the English Lake District following the places the children went in these books. Seems I'm not the only one who loved these stories.
