About this scrapbook page: |
I love his hands. He has long tapering fingers, though some no longer work and all are bent in some way or another. But very dextrous, still. He wrote the poem which I tried to use as an overlay when he was 12. It is a really powerful poem and he has a real gift for writing. I wanted to make his hands look like a work of art - I think they are.

What more could be said other than what others have said? Boy has to be a special person and so lucky to have you in his life, and you have a special talent to create a page such as this. Maybe you could put the whole poem on your blog at the side of your home page.

what a gift you are to each other!!! what can I say about the poem that others have not already expressed? It is heartwrenching to think that at the age of 12 he had already experienced so much that these words and feelings were imprinted on his soul. Your page reaches across the miles to touch hearts with its caring beauty. Yours is such a loving family and I am humbled to know each of you.

Because I wanted to always remember the picture that was being painted, of those hands that he saw as beautiful, when others might have looked at the same hands and not seen any beauty. When you look with the heart and not just with the eyes, it transforms things. And even the eyes think they are the most beautiful thing ever! You have definitely given us art in its truest form.

Mowg, I truly don't know how to express my heart concerning this page. A long time ago, I copied something into one of my journals, an excerpt from a doctor who had visited a leprosy hospital. He spoke about the hands of the patients there; he spoke words that went to the very soul of things. I was moved enough to copy a whole chapter word for word, by hand and not by typewriter.
