Ellie and her Mommy and Daddy went to a pumpkin patch in Hawaii a few days ago, and these photos are from that adventure. Like most little girls, Ellie loves riding on top of Daddy's shoulders. Daddy had been gone again for a long stretch and had just returned home (military). And she loves running in the midst of the pumpkins, trying to decide which one to take home. I hope she always keeps this innocent joy.

I love your use of warm orange and reds that blend into Dad's t-shirt, the magical bubbles and the word art with all the tiny leaves swirling round. Your attention to detail and warmth just brings out the magic of the day. I am so amazed at the whole pumpkin/Halloween in America. We don't do it here and I wonder what happens to all the pumpkin meat - pies, soup or mulch?

Both photos are absolutely delightful. How you put that flower in Ellie's hand amazes me re:extraction and she really does look like she is admiring it. The one on her Dad's shoulder is just so delightful and she does look like she is feeling real joy being up so high, secure with her Dad.
