About this scrapbook page: |
This is one of the poems I wrote as a mark of repect, for all those who have given their lives for the sake of peace. I wrote this more than 20 years ago, yet the words have not lost their meaning. Again I have had to use 2 pages to present this poem. Thankyou so much for taking the time to read. xx

Sk8tingmom says:
Flanders Fields is one of the most memorable war poems ever written. Poppies are worn on both Veteran's Day and Memorial Day in rememberance of all those who gave their lives for our freedom.

I framed the page in Poppies as they are still a symbol of rememberance of the Poppies in Flanders Fields.

Since you framed the poem in Poppies - the main cash crop in Afganistan, let us hope that not too many more lives are lost to resolve the current conflict.

This poem is very meaningful to me. My father died in WWII and my brother in Viet Nam. Hardly a day goes by when I don't remember them. This a beautiful tribute for all those brave men who gave their lives.
