For anyone who might not be familiar with the Anne of Green Gables series, Anne was a little orphan girl whose only friend and companion (at the beginning of the series) was her own reflection in the mirror of an old bookcase. I thought this picture captured that scene perfectly. Anne's imagination served her so well for the rest of her life ... a fruit of her suffering.

Everything is so touching about this. I can really relate to both the girl looking at herself in the reflection in the window and the quote also. For many of us, the ability of imagining things different from what they are, have made us survivors in this world.... Great page, I take it with me to my favs :)
