About this scrapbook page:
Scyphozoa (True Jellyfish) belong to the phylum cnidaria and includes about 200 species. If you count other classes of jellyfish (Staurozoa, Cubozoa and Hyrozoa), the humber becomes 2,000. In its broadest sense, jellyfish is sometimes used to refer also to members of the phylum Ctenophora which are also free-swimming planktonic carnivores that are generally transparent or translucent - this will increase the number of species even more!
