Tracy, The military always takes good care of their heros! This I know because I was at a funeral of a friend who was in the marines and the same was done for his funeral many years after he served. My mother also passed away from painful pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed 11 days prior. She was 68. God bless you and your page is just wonderful!

My Father was a Canadian and a US Marine. After he left the service, he returned home to Canada and remained living in Canada. He passed away last August 2008 after a terrible ordeal with pancreatic cancer. (con'd next comment)

And still, 43 yrs later and a Canadian, the US Marines sent 2 Marines to his funeral service to perform the taps, drape the American Flag on his coffin, perform the official flag folding ceremony and presentation to his wife, my stepmom. That they would do this was truly amazing. Another example of their motto SEMPER FI, which means ALWAYS FAITHFUL. (con'd next comment)
