Tomorrow, my parent's house will no longer belong in our family. After Dad died last year, we put the house up for sale. It sold last week, and closing is tomorrow. How strange it feels! This was their home for more than 30 years. It's the only home many of my siblings have known. Yet, we must remember that even though the house may be gone, the home will always remain, because it is the people who are the home.

your attention to detail is just amazing to me. It's hard to actually say this is one of my favorite pages of yours because I feel that way about almost all your pages but this one carries a "feeling" different that most of the others. Amazing page! I think this is one of my favorites! I know how it feels to let go of something. I too lost my father last year. Even though we didn't sell the house, I left and moved and there is no feeling like one at your old home. Your right though, home is where family is.

Everyone needs roots. I think the family home acts as that but it's the parents who hold it together and so it's sad when both the parents and the family home are gone. This page makes me very emotional. Today I signed off on the sale of the house, walked thru the house one last time and stood at my parents gravesite to say hello to them. We are their legacy. This page shows that.

That house had been home since I was 10 years old. Like Betty said it makes everything so final that's almost like death again. Nancy and I went over this evening to take a final walk through. It was the first time Nancy had been there since dad died. So it was really hard on her.
