Not a huge fan of the size of the flower. I think it would have more impact if it were smaller and framed with all sorts of interesting nature elements. I would scale the flower to match the butterfly better. Beautiful colors and I think a great start!

Beautiful page, I would make the square with the rose a little smaller so you can see more of the lace border on top. Also I would either lose the butterfly or pick a black one or one with a brighter color. Gorgeous page, I love roses.

Personally, I don't think you need to change anything lol but since I have to for your challenge entry, perhaps a bit more shadowing around the rose to make it pop out more? or sharpen the edges of the back green leafy part so it appears to pop as well?

I like the dark green and pink, I love bright colours, so for me the rose should be brighter or as bright as the rope, I would also have a butterfly with more pink in it,or if there isn't such a thing, may be something else. I can't believe that I am critiquing your great work.

My first instinct is that this is a very pretty and well done page! The photo itself is completely stunning! So, we must tweak, therefore this is what I would do - I would make the rose photo smaller as it seems to dominate a bit too much - I think the beauty will still come through even on a smaller scale. I'd also make the staple smaller, and add a title! Ta da!

Decrease the size of the rose just a "tat" and lose the pink ribbon..use another color. ( I feel like a heel).

Jez the page is stunning, the photo is just lovely, but the contrast between the very gentle soft rose and the sharpness of the pink rope takes away some of the soft feeling. I know the rope is not yours but if it would have had a little blur on it maybe, I am thinking a more dreamy effect if you know what I am getting at.

I agree w/some of the comments...perhaps a different color for the butterfly? Make the lace smaller and less distracting and more feminine. Maybe it's my bad eyes but it looks like the rose is a little out of focus. I do love the colors in that they blend together nicely.

Oh my, it really is hard to find something to critique about this! It's a beautiful page. I think the only thing I could say is that the shadows could be a little less deep. Pulling them in would make the elements seem a little closer to the page and would (IMO) make them look a little more natural. Also, if you could remove the dark edge around the upper paper I think that would look good.
