we weren't technically Amish, but we still had the bonnets and plain dresses, and the whole rigmarole.
and yes, lol, I was supposed to be wearing a bonnet too. (i am on the left) I wasn't a proper child. Margaret (right) was the only good child.
We left that church about 6 years ago, so no, I'm not Amish now.
The song is "Gott ist die Liebe", or God is love, and is a beautiful song I remember singing as a child. Now we sing it at family reunions with my Amish relatives.
