The Hamsa Hand and Evil Eye are two of the most attractive charms or amulets I've seen; so many jewelry and decors have been fashioned after them. They're supposed to protect against the Evil Eye (those who can cause illness or misfortune via spells or envy). Some Middle East activists wear them too to demonstrate similarities between Islamic and Jewish traditions. Entering this in Cindee's challenge - thank you for any comment or vote.
