The night my brother learned he was to become a grandfather, he passed away suddenly from a heart attack. A few months later my brother's son started wearing my brother's old shoes. At his grandson's birth, my brother showed his presence through his shoe, which showed up in the birth photos when my nephew inadvertently took a picture of the floor in the delivery room. It was the kind of humorous thing my brother would do, and it comforts me to know he's still with us.
