About this scrapbook page: |
In 1799 king George III came to mote park in Maidstone, Kent, to inspect the Kent volunteers, men from all walks of life who were trained to fight the Napoleonic army if necessary. This small doric temple was erected on the site of the inspection to commemorate the event.
