About this scrapbook page: |
It is more than 50 years since my Grandfather gave me this book, in memory of my Grandmother. It has travelled many miles with me through the years, but, despite being an avid reader, I have NEVER managed to read it. My tears prevent me from doing so. He took his own life a short time after he wrote these words, as he couldn't live without her.John put the actual book through the scanner.Grandad wrote the words inside, and stuck the newspaper cutting in too.

This is very moving. We have just had the anniversary of my young niece's passing from cancer, and I could hardly bear to look at her photograph because it hurts so much. Sometimes we have to push through the painful part, don't we? I too have an old copy of LITTLE WOMAN from my young days. Do try to read it...! Nadia in Perth, Western Australia

This a super admirable page, Sylvia. It is great that you scrapped your gdad's letter to you and the write up re your gma's passing on. Little Women was a prescribed book (in school) and I will advise you to read a few pages at a time. It is beautiful!!! Your page is super.
