This was taken on our last holiday at Punakaiki on the West Coast of South Island, New Zealand. "The Pancake rocks are column of limestones resembling stacks of pancakes".

this is my favorite among your entries and one of my top favorites in this challenge. i love the rock formation, their textures and how they look like people in a theater, watching that giant cloud that is about to plunge into the waiting sea and thus your quote is so apt. what a dramatic spectacle!
