About this scrapbook page:
This painting was done by my son in art class for Mother's Day 2008. I am posting it to the 'Say the Truth' Challenge. I don't think that I did his beautiful painting justice. This page is not perfect. Please state at least one thing you don't like about this page in your comment. Such an amazing painting!! I agree with some of the other comments, I would pull the blue out as maybe the ribbon element, but I love the greens as the background...Great job

The painting is gorgeous! Maybe adding a touch of matching blue to an element or something in the layout.

First off - I would say - Monet Kyle style as the title and tulip designs got the rest right to me, I'm big on more intense coloring which I feel most often enhances a page

WOW !!! Its a FANTASTIC painting !!! But, I think the painting should be bigger,
the spotted bg detracts from the painting, as Tulip designs suggests a watery bg !!!

I think you need a background that more matches the painting. Along with the embellishments, the colors just dont match

Wow, his art is wonderful! I would change the tags with the letters art - I think they are too large and distract from the painting itself. I love the grunge look and the folded paper at the bottom!

WOW!!! What a SWEET and TALENTED Artist you have!
I would take the colors from the painting itself and make the background and emblishments or find a kit more matching to those colors.
I have to say, coming from an Art Gallery Director....Your Son is VERY TALENTED....tell him to Keep up the Great Work...I look forward to SEE MORE of his artwork! Thank you for sharing ox

WOW! Your son has some talent. Keep encouraging him to paint. to display his art so that the eye focuses on the painting you need to complement the painting with the frame and background. I would have used a darker background, made the elements smaller, and a frame to bring out the colors of the painting. You did a good job of the page.

I love this. Mostly, when you see "art" from a 6 year old it is a stick person in front of a stick house. This, is fantastic! You may have a little artist on your hands!. If I could suggest, the lilac elements should be a hue of blue instead and the background could be a tad darker. A beautiful water painting should be scrapped on papers that give the same feeling, watery.

very nice but I would make the frame around the art a little darker than the rest of the page so it stands out more.

i love this page but i guess i could say that perhaps since you are so proud of the painting and it was such a lovely gift, you could make it larger for the page and make it more of a focus? the colour draws your eyes straight to it, but the 'title' is just as big as the pic. try enlarging it :) :)

Kyle's painting is lovely, I feel a darker border or a darker B/G would show up the painting better, or a contrating B/G instead.
