General Sherman Tree in Sequoia National Park, California. No other living thing exceeds the volume of this giant sequoia. The tree owes its size not to great age, but rapid growth rate. For over 2000 yrs it has survived numerous fires, climate change & even the coming of modern man. It remains not only the worlds largest living thing, but one of the fastest growing.
