It reads on the left: The day you were born was also Melbourne Cup Day - I missed the race & No.5, Saintly won. It was also Guy Fawk's Days, when fireworks and bonfires are held, with a dummy of Guy Fawk on top!
And on the right : In your birth year, 1996, France announced an end to their Nuclear Tests. Britain was alarmed by Mad Cow Disease.
China announced an end to Atomic Testing.
