About this scrapbook page:
Origin of a name challenge.
My great grandfather came to America from Lapland. The Lappi, or Sami (Suomi) as they are traditionally called name their children by taking a Russian or Scandinavian name and adding a nonsense syllable. Katia (sometimes spelt Cassia or Kassia), is Russian for the Heart of the wheat. The Ti in my name is nonsense. Tikatia has no actual meaning on it's own, except for sentimental to my parents and myself. =)
