An American painter and illustrator who was not part of any traditional movement. Parrish devised many other innovative techniques aside from glazing which gave his works a unique three-dimensional appearance and dazzling luminous colors. The "Parrish Blue" color and geometric fabrics were part of his style. All of these features could be seen in "Lantern Bearers."
