About this scrapbook page: |
I have done this page for the Scrap a masterpiece challenge. I love the way John Waterhouse portrays women in his paintings. This is called "Iam half sick of shadows" 1915

this one you featured, the lady of shalott half sick of shadows is a nice choice - although it's not one of my personal favorites, you've scrapped it beautifully. i like how you cropped it to focus more on the expression on her face which appears to me to be one of frustration. :) don't we all feel like that at times? great work!

like you, i so adore john william waterhouse's depictions of women from mythology and literature and he is one of my favorite art masters because he pays tribute to the beauty and various characters and moods of women. if i entered this challenge, i would have scrapped him. in fact, you got me thinking of running a challenge in his honor.
