One thing I have been curious about are some of the terms people use. I am not sure if there are differences or that people call the same technique by a different name. For example - blending , mask, transparency, extract, & filter. Is there a tutorial/web site where these terms are defined?

Oh yes you type in google : tutos for photoshop, psp or others, they are a lot !! What I call a "tubed" picture is also called an extraction ( element extracted from original Background ) what I often call Background is also called paper, layout ... Maks are always called maks I believe ( used in paint shop pro often ) , Transparency is applied to a picture "extracted" generally in PNG format for more convenience - Filters are some effects different ( using this or this one soft ) applied for colors, textures and so on If you want to see some of this terms on your works lol make a try with photofiltre free edition ( I am not addicted but free and simple is much easily for learning ! It's my idea !

tube is a psp file. extract is removing a part of a picture so only the part you want is left masks in psp are jpg files while in photoshop they are png files i think different programs may use different terms for the same thing so it helps to say what you are using.

Thanks scrap cooper !! ( between all terms sometimes I am lost too ) and as many progs are in french , other in english ... that means more and more names different !! I work with psp ( not too much ) , photofiltre and photofiltre studio , photoscape, photoshop cs3 and other little progs for animations like morpheus , squirl water reflection .. I've not found in ONE programme all what I need ( they should be more practical ! )
