If you want to create you own embellishments or backgrounds, you can always use tutorials. That's what I do to make some things. There should be lots for paint shop pro for embellishments, and photoshop has tons of text effect tutorials. :)

I LOVE tutorials! Everyone always asks me how I learned graphic design... what classes I took, where I went to school etc... and I always say I just did tutorials till I got the hang of how to do things myself.
