The photo is of my Grt. Grandmother on my Gram's side. She's Swiss and came out west in 1901 with her husband.
She was Full of Life and Tanasity! Photo was taken at Cannon Beach, Oregon in 1943 one of favorite places to be and MINE TOO!
She sewed her dress which was Bring Colors with spring flowers (not something the avg. woman would wear in that era....but SHE DID)! She also tatted her LACE collar on the dress...something I was taught and have No patience for but I SEW Everyday! Thank you for taking a look~I hope you're inspired by this Beautiful Spunky Woman my Grt. Gram.

I might add the Gerbers came from Switzerland and farmed in Kansas (can you just imagine the SHOCK! after viewing beautiful mt peaks and trees to space to FLAT grassy farm land...wow). then they settled in port angels, Washington. Other family members like my grt. grandfater's dad stayed on the east coast and started up Gerber's Vegteble farm and now known as Gerber Foods (baby food), My grt grandfather's uncle Hiebison and his wife Alvinia had 13 miscarriages all buried with lil crosses for each under the crabapple tree (the only tree) on the only lil hill out of their thousands of acres of wheat field felieds in Nebraska.
