Hi, I'm new to digital scrapbooking. I am usually print my pages off and put them into a scrapbook, but I'm not sure what to do with my original work on the computer. My memory is getting really clogged with scrapbook pages. Obviously I've thought about saving them discs, but I'm so worried about the disc getting damaged. I have fire/water proof safe that I plan on getting the discs into. I just wondered what you all do to archive the documents. My computer can't handle too many more pages. It is getting congested. I need to delete them off of my memory and perhaps get some more memory. Ideas would be appreciatted. Christina

Oh, I like the idea of leaving some copies with people, even if only a disc with them saved to it. That'd be easy to leave with a few different people. Thanks.

Great idea Keturah, and it warms my heart to see people talking about backups! Better by far to spend a few dollars more than risk losing everything.

I would spend a little extra and get an additional hard drive for your computer. They cost about $100 now and will add a whole lot of memory to your system. I have one that is my backup drive and I plan to get a new one for all my scrap stuff.

You may want to get a 4shared account. It gives you 5Gb of space to upload your files. If you want them again, simply download them. Make sure you name your files something that clearly tells you what it is. It's hard to remember what "Bob's Page Embellishment" looks like on a page you did 5 years ago, but if you name it "Red Lace Embellishment" you're more likely to know what it is. Happy Archiving!

The online 4shared account is great and gives you 5gb of free space as wvscrapqueen has pointed out. I have been using it for months and have archived alot of my digiscrap stuff on there as well as programs. There is also Xdrive which is the same idea as the 4shared account and free. I also store downloaded pagekit layouts and projects I am working on onto compact flash cards or to usb flash memory keys. That is a really convenient way to have portable storage. If I'm not working on my desktop I can easily work on my projects on my laptop at any time. I love the portability and convenience of the memory card storage, it is like having an extra hard drive on your pc. If you don't have a flash card reader installed in your computer you would need to get one to use this option (they are cheap). I also store some of my projects on my mp3 player, it has a 20gb capacity and I only use about 3gb for music and the rest for data storage. ARCHIVE TO CD/DVD FIRST, ELECTRONICS CAN FAIL!!!
