If you scroll through the Top Galleries for the past years you will see that until a couple of years ago the pages in the Top Galleries were from several different members. In the past couple of years one member has consistently dominated the top galleries. So, we are working on a solution that will allow multiple members to be featured in the top galleries. We want everyone to have a chance to be featured in the top galleries. I will post an update when we work out the solution.

All sounds good - we are so much wanting this once fantastic friendly site to return to it's former well run self. Jenny - I do hope we see you back again soon - you, and the others who have left us.

Those who have been on the site since the beginning, know about all the changes that we have made to the site to make all the galleries and challenges as fair as we can. For those that are newer here is a breakdown of all the features we have adapted to make the site more fair.

Scrapbook & Funniest Scrapbook of the Week - We added the feature that after you have won one of the awards, you are not allowed to win again for 90 days. This allows for about 24 unique members to be featured over the course of 90 days.

Challenges - We added features so the owner can set the challenge so that you have to submit a page to vote and/or you can hide the owner during the challenges to make it harder to game the system. Yes, we still have members gaming the system. But we have put in as many features as we can to prevent members from gaming the system in the challenges.

Top Galleries - This one is a little harder. But it has not been an issue until the last couple of years. We were going to change the coding so that each member could only have 1 page in the to galleries similar to how we have the coding for the top pages uploaded each week. However, now that we have several members featured in the top galleries again, we don't feel that it is necessary to change the coding at the time.

Todays Scrapbooks - We added the feature to the home page so you can quickly scan through all the pages loaded each day and these are not ranked by points or views.

Galleries - There are lots of galleries underneath the Top Galleries that you can scroll through by category if you want to see more pages.

My Faves - We added the feature to the home pages so you can see a different members favorites every week. This allows for 52 unique members to get all their favorites featured on the home page for a week.

Overall, we want to encourage friendly competition on the site and we want members to have the opportunity to win awards. We realize that we will always have a few members on the site to whom those awards are a little more important to them. We also realize that we cannot always make everyone happy. But we do our best to make the site as fair and as fun as possible.

We do ask that everyone tries to consider other members points of view even if you don't agree with them. This is a world wide community. There are language barriers and cultural differences among members on the site. What one member may consider as acceptable behavior another member may not.

We don't want to overly restrict activity on the site and we want everyone to have fun and to try to be tolerant of everyone on the site.

Thank you Rae Ann - yes this explains everything and it has all worked well until recently. Hopefully we can get back to the fun and comraderie of the recent years and get some of our members back. It has been very unfortunate that some people have had to resort to inappropriate comments. I wish everyone happy scrapping and lots of fun.

Thank you Rae Ann and SBF! I know it is not near as easy to re-code and to come up with a code that can do all of this in the first place. My brain turns to jelly just thinking about it :) I am not able to be in here as often as I used to be and hope that people will be happy with the changes.

Thanks Rae Ann. This does explain the new changes on this site a bit better but like you said, it's hard to please everyone because of different cultures, etc. I think that if SBF could come up with a way to eliminate the members' voting on pages and have it so they're randomly selected then there would be less fighting over members being able to cheat the system. It's just a thought. Happy that you and the team are trying to appease everyone. Keep up the great work!

Thank you Rae Ann to you & your support group. Never will everyone be happy no matter how hard you try. But I do believe most that enjoy this site like that little bit of healthy challenge & competition. I see nothing wrong with a voting system in place & yes there may be a very few that try to manipulate/buck the system, (those few can be dealt with), but the majority scrap/post/comment/vote honestly here!
This is a great site & there are a lot of great folks who just want to scrap, enjoy learning new techniques, meeting new friends and yes maybe getting a little recognition or maybe an icon or 2 along the way for their creations once in a while.
Just my thoughts.

We would like to thank everyone who has voiced their complaints about the site in a courteous and respectful manner. We welcome everyone's feedback on the site. However because this is a family site, we ask that your public complaints be respectful to all the members on the site. You are welcome to send a message to support if you would like to voice a complaint that is not appropriate to post publicly.

Again, we realize we are not going to make everyone happy. But we have many features in place to make the site as fair and fun as possible while still including friendly competition.

Thanks to everyone who has hung in there through all the ups and downs. We really appreciate your continued support!

Mike, this used to be a place where competitiveness was not an issue but lately it has become a major issue. We all want recognition for our hard work but hopefully, without all the fighting and bickering between each other. There has to be a way to eliminate that. I hope the team can come with a solution to this ongoing problem and get this site back to the way it used to be. Thanks SBF for all you do!!
