In gimp or Photoshop you should "build" the page on a transparent background and save the file as a png to print. If printing on white paper you could have a white background and get the same results I would think if you are using the SBF Auroa imaging software which I don't believe handles png files....

So you want to print your layout on a already patterned paper?

Ok,this is what I tried: In the SBF software, I set my bg to white added an embellishment and an image and told it to print from the tool bar above on a patterned paper i put in my printer. The embellishment (which is a png file and transparent like a sticker) allows the pattern of the paper to show through, the image (a photo) which is a jpeg file doesn't. Hope this works for you?

Under page options the first bar says "add Back ground" click on that. A window will pop up to select back grounds. check the "use single color back gounds" circle. Then click on the back ground color block. Another window will pop up with colors. choose white (lower left) then click OK. that window disappears, then click OK again and you should have a white BG on your page. let me know it it works...
