We always buy Dell. Have never had any problems with them always desk tops though never laptops. The 1TB sounds good.

my current laptop is an HP and I would NEVER buy an HP again. The HP crashed after 31 days, I had to pay to mail it back for repair; got it back, spent 4 days reloading my files (have everything backed up on Caronite), it crashed again and had to wipe the hard drive and do a hard reboot, spent 4 days reloading everything again then when I loaded my PSE software the disk drive locked up; it is not yet a year old and it crashed again and I had to wipe the hard drive again and do a hard reboot. My first laptop was a Dell and I could kick myself for not buying a Dell this time, and I could definitely kick myself for not getting 1 TB of memory. My vote would be for the Dell

I had a similar problem with my brand new HP which I took back and got my money back, I then brought a Brand New Dell which was also faulty which I also returned and got my money back. I could have just been bad Luck, However both models were reported to have known problems. Good luck with youyr choice. I opted in the end to buy a second hand one which I know is working properly.

I'm an HP person....I've owned desktops thru the years, and 5 laptops. Have had very little trouble with any of them. I found their support great when and if I did have problems.

Sorry, I ended that funny. hahahha....If I did have problems they fixed it at no cost.

I finally have my new laptop and went with a HP. It has a 8GB ram, and 750GB hard drive space. Not the 1TB that I wanted, but it does have a bonus: a backlit keyboard! I also bought a fan pad that it sits on, and a cushy lap pad that gives me room for my mouse. Hope to be scrapping again soon once I get everything loaded. I will definitely be saving my items on External Hard Drive AND DVDs.

goodness Maggie, you have been through 5 laptops? what are you doing, throwing them out a high window? LOL
