one way, is find a simple pattern, which you probably can Google and find them free. Then decorate them with your images in any program you might have. Some programs, like Hallmark already have blank and pre-made tags that you can decorate with your images. Then print and cut out. I've made plenty of my own tags this way before, usually with Hallmark Card Studio. But you can do it with any program once you get a pattern to go by. I hope this helps some.

Hi, Thank you. I do have a card program but the tags are for the Avery. The look like address labels. I would like the fancy ones or learn how to do it. I do have Paint. Does the Hallmark card program have the shapes such as the one I exampled?

Please forgive me as I am new at this.
I downloaded a tag by cajolin. I tried to place it on a greeting card maker program but the black spaces stayed black, probably because I copied and pasted it. When you download, where do you keep the image? I tried at access it but a pop up said unrecognized. I know I'm doing something wrong. but what?

I went to the nanabanana blog, but found no tag templates. Again, I must be missing something but don't know what.

The black spaces on a template are clear, right? So that when you place an image, the image shows through the clear windows to give it the shape.

I am completely lost on what file to put the downloads.

Heello, I am using paint.net I used the magic lasso and cut. I saved it as a png. However my greeting card program won't upload the png images, although my Microsoft Office Word opens the document. I can overlay it on top of an image, but it still doesn't look right. What programs do I need.?

I just checked my Hallmark program, and I don't see that particular tag. But like it was said here, if it is a png format it should not have a background. Hallmark does take png's. You might want to look it up in Google, there might be some tutorials on how to make these tags. I did this when I was learning how to make a real pop-up card.

Hi Kittylicious, I did a big search on Google on how to make tags but I found no tutorials on how to do the tags that I referenced in my first post. I looked at the paint.net tutorials and didn't see how to do it. I even emailed several people who have these tags on the technique but I got no answers. I wondering if this is a big secret or something!

Hi neeltje, I took one of the tags from the website, turned it into a jpg, copied multiples of it on a blank page on my greeting card program(Greeting Card Explosion) then added images that I re-sized and made into rounded rectangles and added them on top of the tags. Now, they looks nice but it's not exactly what I was going for as pages of tags.
They may do as is, but I'm also wondering about copyright for these tags.

Not a big secret. I'll see if I can find something for you.
I have Hallmark Card Studio 2011 Deluxe. It's pretty simple to use. I also used to use A scrapbook program that had more tags. I'll have to see which one it was.

I tried it out in my PSE9 . I think it is easier in a photo shop program than a card one.Open the tag you like then decorate it any way you want, add color, your own elements, effects. Save it as a png. Then open a blank page like an 8.5x11 for printing purpose and add your png tag to it size it and duplicate as many fit. then print on card stock and cut it out. You should be able to do all this in Paint.net.

Step-by-step Part 1

Opened zip file
Downloaded all the tags to my desk top
Paint.net new
Open tag
Tag has transp backg with black tag
Bucket fill to fill in back with white
Used magic wand to highlit black and then cut
Now I have a white eback and transparent tag
Resized to 400 width
Saved as png to the tags folder on desk top
Closed out the tag

Step-By-Step Part 2
Closed out the tag
File—new -->opened my image
Resized to 400 width (make it smaller if you need to)
Layer—from file
Open my new tag
Move tag to where you want it.
Crop to selection
Save as jpg
Flatten yes

Additional info:

You will have to play around with your sizes and such. Since I don't know Paint.net that well, I used my Microsoft Office Word to make multiples on one page by copying and pasting. I also used the crop tool there to make the tags have less white space.
