Hey, Jax... I never heard of the Microsoft Sync Toy till you asked about it...so I thought I'd give it a try. It seems easy to use. I want to be able to keep copies of my photos on my external drive and on my laptop. Maybe my scrapbooks too, I'm not sure about the scrapbooks. Like a dummy I have my scrapbook pages in all sorts of different folders, lol, all depending on what I had been working on during the day.
Now I just need a 1TB external hard drive and a one of those 4x6 photo scanners. I have a big plastic storage box full of pictures I need to scan. Plus when I visit mom's I see all the pictures there that I need copies of, lol. Has anyone tried using a PanDigital Portable Photo Scanner to scan their pre-digital photos? They have it on one of those home shopping shows and I checked the reviews and it's kind of mixed. People either love it or hate it, lol

I simply cut/paste to my external drives......I back up my data (photos, e-mails, scrap materials) once a day. I file the data exactly as I have it on my hard drive. I have a number of external drives and they are labeled. 1 for Photographs, 1 for other data like downloaded programs, mails, receipts, etc. and others for scrapbook materials. It's so easy to cut and or copy/paste. That makes it easy for me to find 1 or 2 items again, and retrieve them if need be.
