MISTED TUBES
This is an Oh-so-simple Tutorial on Misting your tubes and PNG's. I found it on stakerfamily.com where they have loads of other easy tutorials as well.
Here we go:
" You may have seen tutorials for "misted tubes" on the net. This is a different technique for tubing that works well with graphics that are not well defined. The focal point of the image will sort of fade into the background. The look is soft and works well for certain tags or graphics you create. Find an image to use and open with Paint Shop Pro. Copy the image to a new raster layer. Take your freehand Selection Tool and set a tolerance of 0 and a feather of 20 Starting close to the image (but not on it) use the freehand tool to follow around the part of the image you want tubed. This is subject to your own interpretation how close and how much you want to select. It is all your own artistic decision. It is not precise and no rules about it. When you have gone completely around the image right click your mouse. The marching ants now appear softly away from your image. Now go to image, scroll down and click crop to selection. This then shows a feathered edge to your tube. I now save as a PNG in my own file"
Easy as that!!
Enjoy trying them out
