childhood cancer awareness month
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month and I am asking members to create pages that promote awareness of this. There are 10,000 children in Canada living with cancer with 1500 new cases diagnosed each year. Cancer is the leading disease related cause of death among kids in Canada after the first year of life. More deaths than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined. About 75% of children are "cured" and go on to lead long, productive lives, and many of the children that have survived are inspired to join the fight as adults in a medical, laboratory or social work capacity.
Challenge Requirements:
1.) Your page should be about CHILDHOOD cancer in some way. 2.) There should be a GOLD RIBBON on your page somewhere. Coloured ribbons have come to symbolize so many things, like Pink for Breast Cancer and Grey/Silver for Brain Tumour, but GOLD is the colour for all children's cancers. 3.) Try to keep the "message" positive. It's supposed to promote awareness. To see an example of what I'm thinking of, see my page. http://www.scrapbookflair.com/tall_one98/I_never_knew_a_hero/page1
