I'm sorry but it seems like there a quite a few pages here that simply took someone else's page and added something to it or enhanced it someway and unless I'm way off I don't think this is the idea of the challenge... I'm understanding it as being a completetly new page that you made your self just using the same layout as another page or another page as inspiration... If I'm wrong I apologize but if I'm not then I don't think it seems very fair that these pages are here.

Sorry to be like this but it also seems a lot of pages aren't even crediting what they have posted to the orginal creator and that I defintely don't think is fair with or without the challenge.

Your understanding is correct. Most of the pages entered in this challenge are not scraplifts. You don't just take another layout and add something to it. You create your own layout with your own pictures and your own elements, just using the layout you are lifting as inspiration. And yes ... credit should always be given for the layout you are using for your inspiration. I have noticed that people are not understanding what scraplifting is, but I have not wanted to say anything for fear of upsetting people. That's not the intention. But the whole purpose of the challenge is for scraplifting. And if pages are being entered and voted upon when they are not scraplifts, that makes me not want to spend time on a page and enter it.

Thanks for your response, I don't want to upset any one either but this is really frustrating me. And it's NOT about winning a challenge - I spend a lot of time and effort making my pages just the way I want and I would defintely be offended if someone took it and changed it and on top of that did not even give me credit. Using my page as inspiration however, is completely different, which someone in this challenge has done, and I found it to be a honor! I can only hope some read this and decide to remove or revise their pages out of fairness to everyone else who has entered the challenge and to those who orginally created the pages.
