Blending in Paint.Net

Maybe a little more complicated then Photoscape but allows you to blend a smaller pic into your background without hard edges showing - if you're careful.

Again there are 2 ways to do this.

1. Open the image you want to blend into a background. You will see some small boxes on the tool bar. These are gradient boxes & are different shapes for making your pic semi transparent. Make sure the box 2nd from the right is set to transparent. Hold your cursor over each of rhe grey boxes & they will tell you what shape you are going to use. Select the one that says radial (This is the one I use the most). Place your cursor in the center of your image & slowly move the mouse out towards the edge. Just stop when you're happy with the result. Save as a PNG file & you can now use it as an embellishment that will bend into your background. Experiment with the other boxes as they all have their uses.

2. Blending an image directly on to your background. Open your background 1st then click on the layer tab. Select import from file. Choose the pic you want to blend on top. Place where you want it & resize if necessary. This time choose tools, Gradient & then follow the steps as above. When you are happy. Select layer, merge layer down. You can continue adding layers. You don't have to merge layer until you have finished adding all the layers. Remember you can always undo if not happy.

I've tried to keep this as simple as possible. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need help or more info.

All it takes is practice.

Have fun!!!!
