Voting Vs. Challenge End Date

Just for my own curiosity, I'm wondering why a challenge would continue on for nine or ten days after the voting has ended. I've noticed this on a couple of other challenges, and I can't figure out the purpose for that. Does this seem a little strange to anyone else? I'm not trying to be negative ... I'm just curious. I've seen this on other challenges and notice that a number of people don't know the voting has ended, and new pages keep being entered in the challenge when the voting is already finished.

Thanks. I entered a page but deleted it because everyone that was commenting was saying they couldn't vote. I've seen challenges where the voting started later than the start date, and I can understand that. But I couldn't understand why a challenge would continue for ten days after the voting had ended. Thanks for looking into it. Appreciate your help.

I just wanted to clarify that I removed my page, not because I was concerned about the votes, but just because it seemed inconvenient for people to take the time to come to the challenge and then have to come back into my page and tell me they couldn't vote. I was just trying to save people those extra steps.
