Author memarsh says: I was about eight and we had the biggest hale storm ever to hit Auckland and why I enjoyed it and remember it was because we spent most of the afternoon outside playing with the hale . Making balls and throwing them at each other . It never snows here in Auckland and thats the closes any of us had come to being able to make and throw snowballs or in our case hale balls .
